BRIDGESTONE J33 UTILITY WOODS OFFER GOLFERS EXPLOSIVE DISTANCE
AND MORE FORGIVENESS ON MIS-HITS
Bridgestone J33™ Utility Woods Designed To Replace Harder-to-Hit Long Irons
Covington, Ga. — Bridgestone announced today, that it would expand its already
successful hybrid club offering with the addition of the Bridgestone J33 Utility
Woods, a hybrid utility club designed for golfers who are more comfortable with
the look and feel of a wood to replace long irons. The Bridgestone J33 Utility Woods
blend several features to offer precise long approach shots with a more playable
trajectory and added forgiveness and control.
The J33 Utility Woods’ heads are crafted from responsive 17-4 stainless steel, offering
explosive distance and unparalleled forgiveness on mis-hits. The addition of an
elastomer compound insert within the clubhead helps to deaden vibration at impact,
creating a more efficient energy transfer.
To make it easier to get the ball airborne and to facilitate a more penetrating
ball flight, Bridgestone Golf utilizes a tungsten weight in the sole of the club
to lower the center of gravity, producing more accurate high trajectory shots.
The Bridgestone Golf J33 Utility Woods feature a Tour Camber Sole design, for enhanced
heel, toe and trailing edge relief. The Tour Camber Sole utilizes trailing edge
relief to reduce turf resistance. As a result, the new sole provides added versatility
and increased ability to maneuver the golf ball. The end result is a neutral club
that reduces the tendency to hook that is commonplace among users of other hybrid
clubs.
“Bridgestone has created a club that allows golfers to experience the forgiveness
and explosive distance of a new generation hybrid, without sacrificing a more traditional
shot maker’s feel,” said Mike Moxie, Golf Club Marketing, Bridgestone Golf, Inc.
"We have designed a sole for the J33 Utility Woods which allow players to control
ball flight, as opposed to competitors’ utility clubs where there is one dominant
trajectory that the player is forced into playing. Therefore, the ultimate benefit
of the Tour Camber Sole design in the new J33 Utility Woods is greater freedom for
shot makers to work the ball as they deem necessary.”
The J33 Utility Woods are available in #1 (15-degree), #2 (18-degree) and #3 (21-degree)
models and come standard with an Aldila® NV 85 Hybrid Shaft. The specialized
Aldila® shaft works in conjunction with the exclusive J33 Utility Club design
attributes to provide golfers with a high launch angle without excessive spin resulting
in maximum control.
The J33 Utility Woods will feature a suggested retail price of $249 each and will
be available in Fall 2005 at golf specialty stores and green grass retailers nationwide.
