Bridgestone Extends B330 Family With Tour B330-S™, For Better Players Seeking Softer Feel And Greenside Spin-Control

Advancements in Cover and Core Technologies Make B330-S 15% Softer

Covington, Ga. — Earlier this year, Bridgestone Golf made an impact in the golfing world with the introduction of the Tour B330 golf ball. Bridgestone Golf is proud to introduce its first expansion of the Tour B330 line, for players seeking a softer feel and added spin control, the Tour B330-S.

The Tour B330-S is a three-piece urethane ball, featuring a 330-dimple pattern for reduced drag during elevation, and a prolonged lift after peak trajectory, causing a shallower angle of descent. Seamless Cover TechnologyTM (SCT&) offers a superior alternative with complete dimple coverage compared to conventional balls that have a seam that may cause unexpected differences in ball flight. SCT creates added distance and a more consistent flight for pinpoint accuracy.

The Tour B330-S is mainly differentiated from the original B330 by a new cover and core formulation designed for smooth feel. Bridgestone's innovative new core is a softer version of the one used in the B330, using varying degrees of softness from the inside to outside of the core, known as Gradational Compression Technology. The Soft Speed Elasticity core generates extreme compression for reduced driver spin and faster rebound for explosive distance.

"We are very pleased with the success of the B330 line thus far, and we're thrilled to be able to extend the line with a softer version of our same superior technologies," said Dan Murphy, Director of Marketing, Bridgestone Golf, Inc. "With the addition of the Tour B330-S, our product line has something for the differing golf ball preferences of better players everywhere."

The combination of the Tour B330-S's new Soft Speed Elasticity Core and new responsive urethane cover, designed for increased touch and control make the ball 15% softer than the original B330 and makes the ball more conducive to generating spin, all while maintaining the B330 line's identity as one of the longest balls in golf.

Appleby and Price to Debut Tour B330-S at the Memorial

Two of Bridgestone Golf's marquee players, 2005 Mercedes Championships victor Stuart Appleby, and 3-time major champion, Nick Price will debut the ball at the Memorial Tournament, May 30th-June 5th, at Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, OH. Former major champion Fred Couples and PGA Tour Driving Distance Leader, Scott Hend will continue to rely on the original Tour B330 in PGA Tour competition.

The Tour B330-S will be available at golf specialty stores and green grass retailers nationwide, beginning June 20th, 2005. The B330-S will feature a suggested retail price of $54.
