Freddie Relies on Bridgestone Irons in Nostalgic Run at Augusta
Couples Uses J33 Cavity Backs To Top Greens-In-Regulation Category at the 2006 Masters
Covington, Ga. — PGA Tour legend Fred Couples thrilled galleries this weekend at the 2006 Masters with his electrifying
shot making and precision iron play. In just his third tournament and first Major with the Bridgestone Golf J33 Cavity Back
irons in the bag, Couples routinely knocked down pins on his way to a 4-under par performance and a top three finish.
Banking on the combination of the Bridgestone Tour B330 golf ball and the J33 Cavity Back irons, Couples finished tied for
first in Greens-In-Regulation for the week finding the dance floor 76% of the time. The 1992 Masters champion put on an
approach shot clinic that often resulted in birdie attempts of less than 10 feet.
"This was my first Major with the Bridgestone irons and I am very pleased," said Couples. "My approach shots were right
on target. I've been playing the B330 ball now for a while and feel very comfortable with it. The ball felt great off the
irons all week long, plus it was long off the tee. All in all, I am very confident in my equipment right now."
Couples' Bridgestone J33 Cavity Back irons and Tour B330 ball are currently available at on-course and off-course retailers
across the United States. For more information on either product visit www.bridgestonegolf.com.
