Brand New Bridgestone Golf Tour B330 And B330-S Balls Are Sure To Set Off A Louder Boom in 2007
New B330 Series Golf Balls to Hit Shelves Early Next Year
Covington, Ga. — Since bursting onto the scene two years ago, Bridgestone Golf has quickly established itself as
a dominant force in the premium performance golf ball market. The fastest growing brand in golf balls is set to continue
the boom and momentum into 2007 with the launch of the new Tour B330 and Tour B330-S. Featuring a softer cover formulation,
reengineered core and a slightly deeper 330 dimple pattern, the new Tour B330 and Tour B330-S golf balls deliver increased
durability and feel on wedge shots, and even greater distance off the tee.
The multilayer B330 series of balls have a urethane cover, featuring a 330-dimple pattern with Seamless Cover TechnologyTM
(SCT®), eliminating the traditional seam line. SCT, a technology pioneered and perfected by Bridgestone Golf, creates added
distance and a more consistent flight for pinpoint accuracy, eliminating the variance in distance between "pole-hits" and
"equator-hits." The 330-dimple configuration also results in an increased Coefficient of Lift during the peak to landing
periods of the ball flight, producing a shallower angle of descent for more carry distance. For an even more penetrating
ball flight the new versions of the B330 and B330-S are designed with slightly deeper dimples.
Both the new B330 and B330-S feature a core with Enhanced Gradational Compression Technology, offering a greater difference
between the compression from the center to the outer portions of the core. The increased variance of compression results
in lower spin and even higher launch than the original B330 and B330-S golf balls, meaning more distance from the tee box.
The new B330 and B330-S appeal to two different types of players. Those who value a solid feeling ball and yearn for maximum
distance off the tee, will gravitate towards the Tour B330. Whereas, the Tour B330-S will be most attractive to players
who rely on their feel and a soft touch around the greens.
"With the Tour B330 and Tour B330-S consumers have a great alternative. If you rely on power then the B330 is the choice
for you. If you want smoother feel, the B330-S should meet your every need," said Dan Murphy, Senior Director of Marketing,
Bridgestone Golf, Inc.
The new B330 series of balls each feature a brand new softer thermoplastic polyurethane cover. The covers were formulated
with increased cross-linking agents, and as a result offer much better durability and control on wedge shots, for both the
B330 and B330-S.
The new Tour B330 and Tour B330-S will be put into play at the beginning of the 2007 PGA TOUR season, with the new Tour
B330-S making its debut in Stuart Appleby's bag as he tries for a record breaking 4-peat at the 2007 Mercedes Championships.
As the record holder for most drives over 400 yards on Tour, Appleby said. "The new B330-S is even hotter off the tee than
the original and the spin and check performance around the greens remains superb."
As for the new Tour B330, it will debut in Fred Couples bag in early 2007 as well.
"Since coming to Bridgestone, I have been amazed with their R&D expertise and abilities, I can already tell that the new
Tour B330 is going to provide even more pop." said Couples.
The Bridgestone Golf B330 series of golf balls will feature a suggested retail price of $52 per dozen and will be available
at golf specialty stores and green grass retailers nationwide, beginning February 2007. For more information on the new
