Bridgestone Chosen as Official Golf Ball of PGA TOUR Academy 2011 Junior Golf Camps

COVINGTON, GA — Bridgestone Golf, the #1 Ball Fitter in Golf, was announced today as the exclusive golf ball partner of the PGA TOUR Academy Junior Golf Camps for 2011. In this capacity, Bridgestone will supply golf balls and caps at nearly 200 TOUR Academy summer golf camp dates nationwide. The partnership is a joint effort by Bridgestone Golf and the TOUR Academy to educate junior golfers on the importance of choosing the right ball for their game.

As part of the agreement, Bridgestone Golf will supply 2,500 dozen golf balls and caps for all participants. The product donation represents nearly $100,000 in retail value. The TOUR Academy will ask all participants to participate in a B-FIT session on www.bridgestonegolf.com prior to registration in order to determine which ball best suits their swing characteristics. Bridgestone will then supply the TOUR Academy with a dozen of the recommended ball for each attendee.

"No other company is as passionate about making sure its customers have the right ball for their swing as Bridgestone Golf is," said John Fechter, President of the TOUR Academy. "We are proud to make Bridgestone a part of our junior golf camps and we look forward to helping our program participants decide which ball is right for their games."

TOUR Academy summer camp programs are scheduled to begin in June and run through August. Programs include overnight, full-day and half-day programs and are open to juniors 7-18 years of age and of all ability levels. Camps will be held in highly desirable golf destinations including Florida, Arizona, New Jersey, California, Colorado and Texas. Additionally, the camps will be held at some of the most recognized and celebrated golf facilities in the country including; TPC Sawgrass, located in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL and home of THE PLAYERS Championship; TPC Scottsdale outside Phoenix, AZ and home of the Waste Management Phoenix Open; and TPC Harding Park, located in San Francisco, CA, home of the 2010 and 2011 Charles Schwab Cup Championship and 2009 Presidents Cup.

"With its rigorous training program for instructors, the TOUR Academy has one of the finest junior golf instructor teams in the game, so we are excited to partner with them to educate junior golfers on the importance of ball fitting," said Dan Murphy, Vice President of Marketing - Bridgestone Golf, Inc. "In addition, their summer programs provide junior golfers the ability to experience some of the best courses in America, and receive best-in-class training that will help further their golf careers."
