New Bridgestone B330 Balls Bring Distinct Aerodynamic Innovation to PGA TOUR In 2012
Softer Dual Dimple Design Cover and Larger Core Provide High Swing Speed Players Greater Distance and Better Spin Performance than Ever Before
COVINGTON, GA — Bridgestone Golf, the #1 Ball-Fitter in Golf, unveiled
today its newest TOUR B330 (B330) and
TOUR B330-S (B330-S) models. The popular 4-piece TOUR balls now feature
Bridgestone's proprietary Dual Dimple Technology, larger cores and softer covers
than the previous B330 models. The results are longer distance and better spin performance
for players with swing speeds greater than 105 mph.
Utilizing Bridgestone's Dual Dimple Technology cover, company engineers have optimized
the aerodynamic performance of the B330 line. The cover's smaller inner dimples
increase thrust power at launch for greater distance while the larger outer dimples
promote a shallow angle of descent for increased roll out on landing. The result
of the improved performance at both takeoff and landing is greater overall distance
performance and more consistency in the wind.
In addition to enhanced aerodynamics, the new B330
and B330-S also contain larger cores than
before. Like a car's engine, the core is the powerhouse of the golf ball. By gaining
size in the core, the ball's velocity is increased and its distance performance
"I've always thought Bridgestone balls were hands-down the most consistent balls
in the wind, but the new Dual Dimple pattern flies even better," said PGA TOUR star
Matt Kuchar. "How Bridgestone is able to make a
golf ball go farther, and at the same time spin more around the green, just boggles
The newly enhanced spin performance is a product of the balls' softer Urethane covers.
Compared to the previous models, the Urethane covers of the
B330 and B330-S are 6% and 13%
softer, respectively. The resulting softness produces maximized spin and control
on and around the green and enhanced durability throughout the round.
"Both PGA TOUR players and high swing speed amateurs are excited about the performance
of the new B330 models," said Brandon Sowell, Director of Marketing - Bridgestone
Golf, Inc. "It's extremely unique to introduce visual technology in a golf ball,
but with the Dual Dimple pattern, golfers truly can see one of the major enhancements
we've made to the line."
The new B330 balls feature a street price of $44.99 per dozen (MSRP $58.00 per dozen)
and will be available March 2012 at golf courses and golf specialty and sporting
goods retailers nationwide. A limited edition 2-sleeve pack (1
B330 sleeve, 1 B330-S sleeve) will
be available for golfers wanting to try each of the new models. The trial pack will
be available at retail in March 2012 at a street price of $19.99.
