B330 Birdie Barrage in Biloxi Has Couples' Sights Set On Augusta
COVINGTON, GA — This weekend in Biloxi, MS, Bridgestone Tour Team member
Fred Couples kicked off his 2012 Masters tune-up
in grand fashion, winning his 7th career Champions Tour event in just his 30th Champions
start. Couples relied on the new Dual Dimple Technology

best 21 birdies for the week - including a thrilling 8-footer on the final hole
to win the Mississippi Gulf Resort Classic by a shot.
In addition to leading the field in birdies, Couples fully showcased the longer
distance and better accuracy of Bridgestone's new Dual Dimple Technology, finishing
2nd in Driving Distance and T3 in Greens-in-Regulation for the tournament. Couples
started the week with a bang recording 10 birdies in Friday's opening round en route
to a course-record setting, 9-under par 63.
"The Masters is probably the tournament that means the most to me of any stop on
Tour, so it will be nice to go there with a little momentum," said Couples. "The
new ball is longer and easier to control in the wind. I drove it pretty well in
Biloxi, and I hope that carries over to Houston and Augusta."
