COVINGTON, GA — On Monday, May 6th, Bridgestone ambassador and 'the coolest golfer on the planet,' Fred Couples, became the latest member of the elite fraternity that is the World Golf Hall of Fame.
Couples, who will defend his Senior Open Championship title later this summer, has proudly been a member of the Bridgestone Golf Tour Team since the brand's inception in 2005. Currently, Couples relies on both the TOUR B330 golf ball and J40 Dual Pocket Cavity Back irons in thrilling fans during both Champions Tour and PGA TOUR events.
"The Bridgestone Golf brand could not have asked for a better ambassador for the past 8 years than Fred Couples," said Dan Murphy, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing - Bridgestone Golf, Inc. "Freddie helped put us on the map and it is no secret that he has played a large role in the growth of our brand to the #2 golf ball in the industry. We're excited to see Fred honored with this well-deserved affirmation of his stellar career."
This Fall Couples will captain the United States President's Cup Team for the third time. In doing so, he will look to become the first ever captain on either side to win the event 3 times.
"This was easily the coolest night of my life and I'm grateful that Bridgestone was here to celebrate it with me," said Couples. "I've been with Bridgestone for a little under a decade and having been a part of a brand that has grown so quickly by doing things the right way, has been really rewarding."
