Just put the J40 Dual Pocket Cavity irons up against the Mizuno MP 54. These will be in the bag soon. Forgiveness is just about the same for both clubs; same for spin, distance, looks, feel on the sweet spot, and shot shaping. Where the DPC shine for me is feedback. The Mizunos didn't really tell me when I missed the sweet spot and these did... a lot. I like that in a club. I want to know when I'm off a bit so I can work to fix the swing. Kudos on a club that keeps up with the Jonses and does it a much better price point!!!

Purchased the J40 Dual Pocket irons this Spring after 10 years of playing TaylorMade forged 300's and I will never look back. These are by far the softest irons I have ever hit. You never feel the ball come off the face, which says to me no matter where you hit the face, it's going to be solid contact with no loss of distance. Can't wait to get the matching 3 iron.
Forgiving & soft buttery head paired with a silky smooth PX5.0 steel shaft. Perfect combo!!

Tried the J40 irons after wasting all my money over the years. I must say, they are the best feeling and most forgiving irons I have played. Nice job Bridgestone. I play the B330 and I can't be happier.
I have to tell you fellow golfers how good the J40 DC irons are. I have played all the name brands like all of you, and my friend had me try his J38's. I was stunned at how solid these irons were. I went out and bought a set of J40 DC's with Nippon shafts, and I have to say this is one of the finest irons I have ever played. After three rounds, I am ditching my RocketBladez tour irons. These irons are SUPERIOR, NO COMPARISON. I also own a set of Mizuno JPX-825 pros, and they are going too. If you get a chance to try these, you are in for a surprise. Very solid, buttery soft, AND FORGIVING. I am so pleased with these irons, I want to buy the wedges too. Great job Bridgestone. You may not make a lot of iron sets, but these clubs are absolutely top shelf.
J40 dual pocket cavity irons with stock Project X flighted shafts swing so easy, and deliver a piercing mid high ball flight. Beautiful top-shelf look, and feel with minimum offset instill pure confidence over the ball. Slightly longer blade lengths help reduce side spin, replacing hooks and slices with gentle draws and fades. Sole grind/leading and trailing edges are done to perfection, allowing for solid ball striking from any lie, without any excessive digging. Distance is slightly above average, but feel is where this club really shines. Center strikes produce laser like accuracy with the softest most pure feeling I have ever experienced. These irons can be played well by middle handicap golfers, but single digit players will be deadly accurate with this set of world class irons. Great job Bridgestone Golf.

Tried the J40 Dual Pocket Cavity Irons out a few times now. Everything feels great. Great feel and still able to work the shots a bit. The only club in the bag that may take a bit to get used to is the PW. Hits great, but the head is fairly large for a PW.

Attended the Bridgestone Ball Fitting at the TPC San Antonio today, July 21, 2013. The professional staff were outstanding with their knowledge about fitting the right ball and I also realized for the first time that Bridgestone has clubs I want to buy. Great day for me and hopefully I'll take it another level.

See my earlier pre-purchase review, esp. the Maltby high MPF 682 rating. Bought these (5-P) with Project X Flighted shafts and these have actually exceeded my expectations in terms of flight, distance, consistency and forgiveness. Kudos Bridgestone! For those of us who like low offset irons, these are a no-brainer. For off the shelf clubs, the shallow-C grind soles and turf interaction, there are none better. Choke the P wedge and it serves quite well as a G-wedge.
Just got my DPC with Steel Fibers and all I can say is awesome!!! Great looks, feel, ball flight and forgiveness of a game improvement iron. Perfect combo of head and shaft. In my opinion, one of the most underrated irons on the market today!
