Golf Ball Testing Technician


  •          Responsible for all golf ball/club evaluation by working with the Test Site Operations Manager and Japan R&D Engineers
  •          Manage all aspects of professional player testing.  Coordinates with Tour staff to test players. Use a launch monitor to conduct testing and give feedback to players based on results. Will be the R&D representative at testing events.
  •          Manage all aspects of robot testing.  Coordinate with Test Site Operations Manager to conduct tests. Provide feedback to Japan R&D about test results using Excel.
  •          Manage all aspects of competitor golf ball testing.  Coordinate with Test Site Operations Manager to conduct tests.  Provide feedback to Japan R&D about test results using Excel.
  •          Manage all aspects of amateur player prototype golf ball testing.  Coordinate all aspects of testing to include contacting players, scheduling players, writing a summary report and making recommendations about future products based on test results.
  •          Manage all aspects of COR testing.  Conduct all testing of COR golf balls and rewrite the COR formula as needed.
  •          Using knowledge of mathematics, physics and/or engineering.  Help to develop new products based on research from robot and player testing.
  •          Responsible for keeping the test site equipment inventory stocked and managing said inventory.
  •          Research new technologies concerning golf equipment and use said research to develop new products. 
  •          Conduct in-depth research using the ball fitting database.  Use of Excel and pivot tables will be used to conduct this research.  Finding may be submitted to golf periodicals, our internal legal team for substantiation of claims, or for internal research to develop new products.
  •          Ability to work with software vendors and communicate effectively the needs of the test site and/or the marketing department.  Ability to write RFP (Request for Proposal) for software that is needed.
  •          Required travel when requested.
  •          Other job duties may be assigned.

  •          Ability to conduct launch monitor testing and assist R&D in developing new products
  •          Ability to make presentations to the media, customers and internal staff.  Will represent the R&D department while making said presentations.


Minimum of four year college or technical school (statistics, physics, mathematics, engineering); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
