Bridgestone Teams Up With Uber to Celebrate the Year's First Major

April 09, 2015

As Georgia's preeminent golf company, Bridgestone Golf has annually celebrated the year's first major in various creative ways over the last decade. For the 2015 edition of golf's annual rite of spring, Bridgestone has teamed up with Uber to give passengers in Augusta a fun new way to be part of the excitement.

Beginning with the start of the tournament's first round, Bridgestone Golf will distribute samples of its award-winning e6 golf ball with a limited edition "Made here, Played here" logo to Uber riders throughout Augusta, GA through Sunday, April 12th. In addition, customers who are new to Uber in Augusta can use the coupon code "RideAugusta" to receive their first ride free (up to a $20 value).

"The state of Georgia is universally focused on golf during this week every year, so we really wanted to think of an innovative way to celebrate the fact that we are the only golf company that makes its premium golf balls right here in the Peach State," said Corey Consuegra, Director of Marketing - Golf Balls, Bridgestone Golf, Inc. "Given the rising popularity of Uber and the fact that the service's debut in Augusta coincided with the year's first major, it seemed like a great fit for us. We are pleased to team up with such a cool, innovative company and help to extend the excitement surrounding one of golf's biggest events."
