COVINGTON, GA – Bridgestone Golf ambassador Matt Kuchar captured his 13th professional title this past Saturday with a one-shot victory at the Franklin Templeton Shootout, a team-based, 54-hole stroke play event utilizing scramble, modified alternate shot and better ball formats. This was the second win at this event for the 38-year-old Florida native and his playing partner.
After an opening round 57 at Tiburon Golf Club in Naples, Florida, an eagle on the 53rd hole of the tournament was enough for the twosome to secure the win. Kuchar trusted a combination of Bridgestone equipment to help fend off the competition and find the winner's circle, including the Tour-B330S ball, J715 driver (8.5 degrees), J15 cavity back irons (5-P) and a J40 Black Oxide wedge in 52 degrees. Kuchar's excellent play in Florida comes just one week after securing a third-place finish at the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas.
In addition to Kuchar, Bridgestone's Tour Staff includes Brandt Snedeker, Masters winner Fred Couples, three-time major champion Nick Price, young star and recent Web.com Tour Finals winner Bryson DeChambeau, and LPGA Tour stars Stacy Lewis, Paula Creamer and Karrie Webb.
