Bridgestone Golf Named Official Golf Ball Sponsor of Vanderbilt University Men's Team

February 17, 2017

Bridgestone Golf – Innovator of premium golf balls, clubs and accessories – has been named the official golf ball sponsor of the Vanderbilt University Men's golf team, which is currently the No.1 ranked program in the nation.

The company is providing the team with custom-logoed versions of its popular Tour B330 and B330-S golf balls to ensure that the student-athletes are preparing and competing with the best product possible. Each member of the Commodores has undergone Bridgestone's industry leading ball-fitting analysis to identify the model that maximizes their on-course potential.

"Bridgestone is one of the most respected manufacturers in golf, especially in the area of golf balls," says Scott Limbaugh, Vanderbilt Men's Golf Head Coach. "Knowing that our squad will be using their product gives both our players and coaching staff supreme confidence heading into the season."

"Vanderbilt Golf has a proud tradition of excellence and has established itself as one of the best programs in the country," says Darrell Moy, Sr. Manager of Tour Operations. "We look forward to helping such a wonderful group continue to succeed and look forward to cheering on the Commodores throughout the coming golf season."

Bridgestone introduced the Tour B330 and B330-S in early 2016 after more than four years of research and development. The catalyst for distance and accuracy gains over leading competitors is the patented TOURcore. Now six percent larger than the prior model, it produces even faster speed and less spin off the driver via Bridgestone's gradational core formulation. For increased greenside control, both balls wear the breakthrough SlipRes cover, which increases stopping power without the usual negative effects of added driver spin.

In addition to Vanderbilt, Bridgestone supplies product in an unofficial capacity to a variety of elite college golf programs in every major Division I conference. Bridgestone's professional staff features Vanderbilt alum and FedExCup champion Brandt Snedeker, 14-time major winner Tiger Woods, Olympics bronze medalist Matt Kuchar, Masters winner Fred Couples, three-time major champion Nick Price, recent PGA Tour winner Hudson Swafford, Bryson DeChambeau, and LPGA Tour stars, Paula Creamer and Karrie Webb.
